Questions to debconf and partman-crypto

Asked by Markus Waas

Hello, I have once again some questions and hope you can help me again.

I want to create a boot partition, an encrypted swap partition with a random key and an encrypted root partition. The easiest way for me would be, if I could create the partitions manually and simply select them via preseed.

If thats not possible, I need to do it with partman-crypto. I tried that, but I always get the error 'no root filesystem defined'. (debugging log from ubiquity: partman-target/no_root error) And I have also no idea how to configure the preseed.cfg to get a swap partition with a random key.

There is not much documention or help anywhere. So I really appreciate your help here. Thanks.
Markus

This is more a workaround but works fine: I use the regular method and then I mount the root partition after the installation, back it up, format the root partition with cryptsetup and restore the back up.

So I dont have to use partman-crypto.
