Change preseed file AFTER booting on LiveCD?

Asked by Markus Waas

Hello, I am curious, if it is possible to change preseed files in the LiveCD environment?
So that you can boot into the LiveCD, configure the preseed files and then start ubiquity --automatic.

The reason I try this is, that I want to make a custom installer, where you have some limitations for your install configuration. So I could just edit those preseed files and then run ubiquity.

Would that be possible?

The preseed files are processed during boot, so you can't usefully edit
them after boot. However, you can achieve much the same effect by
passing data to the debconf-set-selections program within the live
environment.
