If someone encounters the missing initrd file in Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 1 x86 (like I did recently), here is the initrd-file to download (like I did with Ubuntu 8.10 x64):

http://temp.mkcs.at/linux/ubuntu-1104-natty/initrd.img-2.6.38-7-generic.bin

May be someone could submit the x64 version of the initrd (in case if there are differences).
