Just had that crush when trying to install Interpid. I created a 8GB ReiserFS (/dev/sdb1) on my second HD for / partition, a 20GB ReiserFS (/dev/hdb2) for /home and directed bootloader to install on /dev/sdb1.

I didn't have a problem installing Hardy using same partitioning except that I used ext3 and not ReserFS.
