Thanks for your feedback.
Are you sure you found the exact same issue, cause this error message
("ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_bootloader") is
reported in many bugs but with different causes.
Actually I had also this problem with Hardy install, I was not able to set
up a dual boot with Gutsy (I am still running Gutsy now).

I suspect, though I have not tried yet, that install could work if I
overwrite my Gutsy install, instead of trying to install Intrepid on another
partition. What I cannot understand is why in this configuration, I have 2
/target mount points...
