I'm not downplaying the severity, I am being accurate about it. Bugs are
given severity ratings so that good priority decisions are made. I can't
fix this bug in any practical way, but the least we can do is keep the bug
report accurate.
It is an annoying and bad user experience for a fairly niche instance. That
is bad. But this bug does not cause actual data loss, and we should not say
that it does when it doesn't. I don't think falsely inflating the severity
of bugs to try to get attention is healthy, although I agree it is
tempting. So now you know my motivation for intervening with this
non-technical content. No more such discussion from me, you either agree or
not about that opinion, and you apparently already agree with my technical
assessment.
