I'm getting black and white output, everything else is fine

Asked by Anon Ray

Hi,
I'm using Avermedia Avertv Go tv tuner card. I was using Windows and i recently switched to Ubuntu. So I looked up the links tvtime.net and http://pikupq.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/configure-avermedia-aver-tv-go-007-configuration-in-ubuntu, to configure my card to run in Ubuntu. But when I used the commands dmesg or lspci or lshw, it gave me that my driver was "bttv". So I configured the tvtime that way, for example I ran the modprobe command with bttv as the argument.

Now, the problem is : I'm getting output video in black and white. Everything else is fine only the video is black and white! It's like I'm watching tv in the 80's!!

And here is the output of tvtime at the terminal(I ran it in the verbose mode) :
root@x89:/etc# tvtime -v
Running tvtime 1.0.2.

Thank you for using tvtime.

Oh and one more thing, I'm using digital home service(through set-top box you know), so I have the video source as composite and not tv signal.

I need help badly...
Thanks in advance

Ray
