why not in the official repository

Can you explain (or link) why this packages where removed from the official Ubuntu repositories?

Sorry, but I don'T really understand. The package caused a bug? But why not fixing it instead of removing it?

The package "fonts-ipa-font" can not be found in the ubuntu reps.

Its been removed from Debian, so Ubuntu follows suit.

 font packages such as "fonts-vlgothic" or "fonts-ipafont-gothic".
