Tryton new versions?

Asked by Dade

I was willing to test Tryton, however appCenter have 3.0 version while Tryton is already on 3.8 which is potentially better than 3.0.

Is there any chance we can see this version package?

Thanks for your time.

There are PPAs for the package here.
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=Tryton

Make sure you check the PPA supports Trusty.

Just because a newer version is available doesn't get the package updated in Ubuntu. If you report a bug and the bug and security fixes are significant then the package will be updated sooner. Packages in Ubuntu (especially in the LTS releases) are left as they simply aren't broken. Packages with issues or security bugs will be attended first.

Ubuntu is aimed at newcomers to Linux, so stability is champion over getting the latest versions available.

Have you got any issues with using the 3.0 version?

At all, I was just wondering about 3.8 features and I always like to stay updated as I can with productivity software. For sure I will post bug if found any, even solutions when it's on my capabilities ;)

Thanks a lot for your time and kind answer.
