Why does my monitor blink in certain games ie Tremulous?

When ever I play certain games whether they were made for linux or windows my screen blinks. Now when I used windows I didn't have this problem regardless of the game. The games so far that this happens are Tremulous, Glest, and anything in Wine. My specs are these:

That can be caused by Compiz fusion (ex- beryl)

If you have Compiz fusion enabled try to disable it

In fact using OpenGL (in games or videos) with compiz with an ATI Graphic Card make the the video or the game flicker.

Till ATI fix this bug, the only solution is to disable Compiz whilst playing.

We're waiting for a new (and decent) driver from ATI soon. I've the same prob.
