Asked by bossbruin

every since i updated to ubuntu 9.10 transmission will not block hibernation and my network connection disconnects. when i "wake" up the computer from hibernation the connection reconnects and transmission starts back up. i do have the box checked in preferences for blocking hibernation when torrents are active but this isn't working.

This is a regression in 9.10. In that release of Ubuntu, the desktop manager uses a different interface than it did in 9.04, and Transmission wasn't updated.

The good news is that the fix for this issue has already been implemented and is currently in a pending SRU for 9.10. More information on this process can be found at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/transmission/+bug/457123

I followed up on the link you provided and decided to try the pre released updates for transmission however these did not fix my problem. I changed my power management setting to never put the computer in a sleep mode when inactive and this seems to have gotten around the problem. Thank you for your time.
