how to hide transmission

How can you hide transmission in ubuntu linux from prying eyes or so that nobody can see its open, while it is still downloading in the backround? Is this possible? Or is there other torrent programs on ubuntu linux that one can use that is capable in downloading in the backround and is hidden?

You can minimise it to the system tray. If this is not sufficient you can run it in CLI mode as a background process and manipulate it via the web interface.
