Does Transmission support UDP?

The article dated Aug 10 on the home page of the TorrentFreak.com web site tells about the 1337Tracker being kicked off their hosting server because of too much traffic. So the tracker changed from TCPIP to the UDP protocol which supposedly has much less overhead. If so, are there any plans to implement the UDP protocol? I haven't tried it.

Transmission does not support UDP protocol, and it seems as they are not going to implement it. If you still want to work with UDP, you can download OpenBitTorrent (http://openbittorrent.com) and use it.
