addition of files to seed that are allready existing on a private torrent tracker site

Asked by Joseph Duvall

I have recently switched operating systems to Lucid Lynx from win xp, and I am trying to add files to Transmission 1.93 that I have download from a private torrent tracker in order to keep my ratio up. The problem I am having is when I add the .torrent file to transmission and point the download to the complete file it is grayed out and I am unable to start seeding from the completed file. is there a way to get the torrent file from the tracker and seed the matching file I have in order to keep my ratio and respond to some re-seed requests I have? thank you in advance for any help you can give me to be able to seed the files I have already downloaded through this tracker.

p.s. some one PLEASE make me feel stupid with a simple solution. :)

Ratio in torrents is fairly meaningless. It is very easy to get a ratio of several thousand in one night, so I wouldn't sweat it. Are there bugs logged for this?
