you need a torrent file, just like you would in Windows. You then open the torrent file with Transmission and it will download the file(s)
Thank you..... Um, so i download a torrent file first? I don't really download songs even on Windows so i am so unfamiliar
Then I suggest you find a torrent site (with legal torrents of course, Canonical and Ubuntu do not condone any copyright infringement).
Something like:

Ok thank you so much, will let you know.
Hello again, thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. I decided to call a friend who explained everything personally to me. He directed me to isohunt. I went to your suggested sites but since the last time i downloaded a song was in 2009, i could not really figure out how to do it. I am still learning to navigate Ubuntu too.
Right now i am waiting for the download to finish. The 3 record bars i inquired about the cd had no copy hence i decided to download the song i needed.
Again, thank you very much! The Ubuntu community is very helpful indeed!
Godbless!

Remember not to breach copyright laws. There are plenty of legal torrents on isohunt though
Okay. Um, how do i know if it is legal?
Stuff you can buy is usually copyrighted,if in doubt websearch what you are proposing to download to check.
I see. Is everything legal on clearbits and jamendo?
It seems everything is legal though...... A lot of people i know download.....
Hello again!
May i ask another question -- re this info on how to download a video from Youtube (because i really have to):
Step 1: Find the video you want to download and wait for it to completely finish loading.
Step 2: Minimize your browser (do NOT close it, some browsers delete the temp directory upon closing), and navigate to the directory /tmp
Step 3: Drag the flash file onto your desktop. Voila!
I looked and looked for the tmp folder and i found it, but i could not find the flash file of the video i wanted to download. Please help. Thank you so much!
Or you can use youtube-dl and not have to worry about 'not closing windows' or anything, the command does it all for you....

This isn't a Transmission question.
But, try the "DownloadHelper" plugin.
