can I download windowsXP OS with transmission 2.04?

Asked by michael2009

I am trying to use transmission 2.04 fro the first time. I entered 'WindowsXP OS' in the search but after five minutes I have received nothing yet. I am trying to create a new installation CD from an existing Windows XP installation CD which has stopped working.. Some of the files cannot be copied, they are damaged or otherwise inaccessible. Should I just search for the individual files by name? Is there any help available for this topic?

No. Firstly, windows requires you to pay for it. Secondly, this is an ubuntu support forum.

Downloading files like this is not condoned or supported. In short if you can find any torrent it will be downloaded in the normal torrent fashion.

1. this is a forum for ubuntu, not for windoze
2. how do you mean it stopped working?
3. files on a cd can't be damaged, but the cd can be
4. what file doesn't seem to work?

I'll qualify my previous answer.

Even if you have bought the disc from windows, you can ask the retailer for a replacement, or you can pay for a new one -- this is a windows support question, not an ubuntu one.

The previous answers are correct -- Transmission's development team doesn't endorse infringing use, and neither do Ubuntu's owners or volunteers. (We don't endorse Windows, either. ;)

However I would add one more thing: Transmission doesn't have a search feature like you mentioned. Are you sure that you're using Transmission...?

OK thanks for all the answers. I just needed to learn how to use Transmission, and I found the answers in a post of the same name here. :)
