transmission torrent client for ubuntu 10.10- how does it work?

I just installed ubuntu 10.10 and i'm having trouble understanding how the transmission bit torrent client works. anyone use this? got any info? I'd really appreciate it.

it works like any other torrent program. what i do is just surf to a webpage that contains the torrent i want, click the torrent, then transmission starts and downloads it.
