Hi,

By default in Ubuntu Transmission is installed (Applications > Internet > Transmission Bitorrent Client)

To use it, just download a torrent file (it usually has an extension name as .torrent) and then open it (by default it should open in Transmission), that's all.

There are other torrent download programs as well.

Hope that helps

For the other part of the question -- How BitTorrent works -- if you want an introduction of how BitTorrent swarms work, http://www.pcmech.com/article/introduction-to-bittorrent/ might be interesting reading. It's a few years old so the list of BitTorrent clients is out-of-date, but the discussion of swarms still holds up.

Can you help with this problem?
