Port Forwarding Problems

Asked by COKEDUDE

I'm having difficulty with getting Transmission 1.93 from the ubuntu repository to forward ports correctly. I have a WRT54GS router. I have done everything the guides say to do and I can't get my ports to forward.

What are you forwarding for? The web interface or the port the app uses for torrents? If its for torrent I believe the router supports upnp so is not needed. If you get no connections without the port forward then yes its needed. If you outline your intention it will help.

From the OP's log it appears that he's sharing nonfree content. Transmission is not intended for infringing use, either by its developers or by Ubuntu. Therefore, technical support should not be given in such cases either.

No.

I'm just trying to get my ports to forward correctly in transmission. When I check in Transmission if my ports are forwarded correctly it doesn't think so. I also checked portforward.com and it also doesn't think my ports are forwarded correctly.

And as for the logs those are just examples.

You will need to check your routers manual on how to set it up. You may need to reboot the router in between changes to apply

Is not a transmission issue you need to work on your router nat... rule and port forwarding...

I don't know this router but to have less issue on port forwarding i usually put internal pc (with a fixed ip ) into a dmz ( see router instructions ) so i have not issue with port forwarding in this way i always set a firewall on dmz defined pc.

Why do you think this a Router problem? My ports forward correctly on my windows system and I haven't touched my router settings since then.

Supposing the nat is done regarding the ip please be sure your pc get same ip when you run in Windows and when you run in Ubuntu
