How to change "Save Location" without affecting existing torrents?

Asked by mvr707 on 2010-03-06

I wanted to change the disk path - however I am seeding 30+ streams. I am looking for a way to change the disk path by shutting down and then xfer old data to new disk and start bit torrent application with new location.

But this did not work. Are there special steps needed to be done for changing the disk path?

Thanks,

I just recently moved some of my torrents to a new disk. There are actually two methods of moving the torrents.

1) Shutdown Transmission, move files, startup Transmission. Right click on each torrent and select 'Set Location'. Browse to the new location, and select the 'Local data is already there'.

2) If you want to keep Transmission running, you can right click on each torrent and select 'Set Location'. Browse to the new location and select 'Move from current folder'. It will move the files in the background and restart the torrent when completed.
