totem package

not able to play video in ubuntu 9.10

some packages are not installed in ubuntu 9.10 due to which i am not able to play any sound and video in Totem Movie Player 2.28.1 , when i try to install packages from pop-uped menu it shows error. It may be due to proxy settings in my college hostel network. please give an appropriate solution.

Try to install libdvdcss2 from "deb http://fr.packages.medibuntu.org/ karmic free non-free".
Unfortunetly, I have the explanation in french.
It should be also explained in english ubuntu documentation about medibuntu and libdvdccs2.
