Asked by jim weaver

Binary package hint: totem

Hi!!!
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and when I play a DVD it just will not play properly. The video is broken and jerky... and the sound fractured and jerky too. I did sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extra in the terminal window and I get :

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package ubuntu-restricted-extra
slayer@slayer-desktop:~$

Please help..
Also the status of Bug 438203 is incomplete and there is no response...

Thanks
Jim

sudp apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

This will install codecs but will not give you DVD playback

You need to add the medibuntu repo:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

then run:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2

Can you help with this problem?
