slow streaming in totem

I just downloaded a movie with Transmission BitTorrent Client and started watching it with Movie Player ... the sound is fine, but the movie itself is slow and jerky and WAAAAY behind. What do I do??

Try to play it in VLC. You find VLC in Software Center and in Synaptic.

ummm ... so i went into Synaptic and searched for VLC - downloaded it ... and now I cant find it. What do I do? I'm NOT very computer smart (not in this department anyway) so basic English would be great, haha.

It is probably under Software-->Audio&Video.

Or just press Alt F2 and write in vlc.
