audio problem in ubuntu 9.04

Asked by Anmol Prakash Gautam

I am not getting any sound in my default players(rythmbox and movieplayer(totem)). Though, the mp3 songs are playing but I am not able to hear any sound. Same is the case with videos. Video is coming without sound. My other players VLC and mplayer are working fine.

Previously, I had tried to run a game application in wine which gave audio error.. Afterwards the system sound started disfuctioning(an fidgeting sound instead of normal). I tried "asoundconf-gtk" which helped me recover the sound .

Now, everything works well except Rythmbox and movieplayer(though they r also working with an exception of sound ).

Please help!!
