totem package

When playing some mkv files the movie Player Stops Suddenly/Upruptly with no error msg

Movie Player suddenly stops without any warning when playing mkv files. But the same mkv files working fine with other player like miro Internet Tv software. File pertains to TV Serial of Prison Break.

If you start the movie player with "totem --debug --gst-debug-level=3" from the terminal, does it give any error message?
Often the system is just not fast enough to play the stream a repeated "gst_event_new_qos" event in the output will indicate that.

Hm... it could be a problem with gstreamer... try to re-install all gstreamer packages (use purge in concole or totally remove in Synaptic and then install them again). I've solved the same problem in my Ubuntu 9.04. Cheers!
