how to update Totem to a newer version

Asked by TomM

Hello,

Is there any way I can update Totem (e.g. 2.24) to a newer version (e.g. 2.26)?
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 and I'd like to have 'download subtitles' plug-in.

Thanks

looks like the ppa doesn't have the package on. Keep trying to find a different ppa

I have a similar question so I'll ask it here. I'm running Jaunty and I want to update Totem to 2.27.92-0ubuntu1 so I can get those trailers on the Apple website to work again. Is there a repo for that?

I clicked the wrong button, sorry about that. Now that I think about it, I probably should have done a separate question. I wasn't sure if I should dedicate separate one for my question when it's pretty similar to yours. Oh well, it's done and there's no delete button.

well... to me it looks the same

from actionparsnip advise I understand that the answer to our problem is to add the repository with the required version of Totem (in my case it was at least 2.26) but the repository that should work perfectly well in this case (https://launchpad.net/~lamothe/+archive/ppa) is not working at all

...I'll try to find the right one

The difference is that Totem 2.27.92 is development release only and is only released for testing purposes

But I don't want to update to to 2.27.
All I need is 2.26 or actually 'download subtitles' plug-in available in this version.
