video works, but audio doesn't

Binary package hint: totem

when I open a song or a video, video works, but audio doesn't work for nothing.. What can I do for this problem?

the issue is probably a lack of codec and not a bug, changing to a question now

and how can I find and install this codec? sorry if I made a mistake, I'm Italian and this is the first day I use Ubuntu

If you feel more comfortable speeking in italian change the language of the question. At the top of the page select edit question and then at the top of that select as the default language as italian.

Ale lascia questa domanda aperta o segnala come invalid o rigettala usa "reject question" in alto a destra e poi formula una nuova domanda in italiano seleziona la lingua italiana e poi scrivi in italiano.
Comuque per il tuo problema penso che occorra solo installare alcuni pacchetti..., pertanto fai una domanda, così resterà disponibile anche per gli altri utenti italiani che per trovare soluzioni inerenti a problematiche su Ubuntu, cercano fra le risposte.
