how to set http proxy

Asked by Stefan

Hi, I'm behind an Enterprise http proxy (Squid) an I've tried to set the Gnome enviroment to the correct http proxy values but totem don't play any file from Internet. I can use, for example, wget but Totem don't play anything ( Firefox plugin or directly using "Open position"). I've also tried tu use it from command line but doesn't work, I receive this error: Error: Could not connect to this stream
How can I play an mms stream from Internet using Totem behind Squid?
Thanks

Generally the problem is that Squid does not support mms streams. If you are lucky you can play the stream as http:// instead of mms://

Thank You Istvan for your attention but the answer is not true because Squid it's work very fine in MS Windows with Internet Explorer 5 and above and Media Player 8 and above. Maybe Totem doesn't work with squid?
Thanks

If it is possible please take a look at squid's log what is being downloaded while you are playing the stream with IE5 or Media Player 8. I think they all fall back to a http url when the mms connection fails.

Can you help with this problem?
