totem package

my totem dvd player says "could not read from resource" or something like that when i try to play dvd's. how do i fix this problem?

i just installed 8.04, and totem wont play dvd's. whats going on ?

Could you give some more information? What is the error exactly? is it related to:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+bug/28596
or any other bug? Does it say you do not have the rights to access the dvd?

i think thats the error you get if you havent installed the software to play encrypted dvds
