Totem not showing correct play time for .flv files

When I play .flv files in Totem Movie Player, the play time at the bottom constantly reads "0:00 (Streaming)", even though they're files on my hard drive rather than files from a URL. Because of this, I'm unable to fast-forward or rewind; if I want to get to a specific part of the video, I have to play through the entire file to get to it.
