totem package

Totem and VLC freezes

All was right till now. Suddenly I discovered when I double click movies, totem launches and the whole desktop freezes. I am only able to move mouse pointer. Caps and Num lock too don't work. I have to restart my system to get out of this system hang.

The same problem occurs when I try to open a movie file with VLC. I'm clueless. Any fix for this?

Please try to run vlc and/or totem using terminal and report any errors here...

open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

totem

or

vlc

When I open it via terminal and play movie, it works just fine! Thank you!
