totem play video only in full screen mode

The player totem plays video only in full screen mode not in normal mode... the videos are divx and the corresponding codecs are already installed...

do u have compiz or the 3d interface enabled
disable it and paly the video

new to ubuntu/linux & have the same problem!!! cannot uninstall/re-install or anything was ok - now can't get it out of full screen - downloaded a different one!!
