getting the decription library for the dvd player? I cant play dvds

Asked by travis carper

Besides the fact that a friend put this Ubuntu 12.04 on my new hard drive because I lost the old one with windows. I don't know how to program! I cant play dvds, cant watch netflix, I cant get Utorrent so I can down load an ebook for linux dummies. I really need help out here. Much would be appreciated.

Why is being able to program added to the question?

Netflix only works (in some way) with a seriously hacked version of Wine. Netflix refuses to support Linux outside of Android.

Ubuntu comes with Transmission installed by default, so you don't need to install uTorrent.

You can install the DVD decoder using this guide:

I recommend installing qbittorrent which is like an open-source equivalent of utorrent:

Here is more info on using Ubuntu:

Can you help with this problem?
