clear recent history from totem movie player

Asked by Balan.E

I usually watch video files on totem 3.0.1. but i am unable to remove the history of watched clips permanently. on top left *movie* menu, whenever i click on it. my previous watched clips are displayed. i tried to delete these but i am not successful in that.
can you please tell me how i would be able to do that so that i can protect my privacy?

Many Thanks

How does it protect privacy? It's your user account which is only accessible using your own password to login with. Only your user can see the Totem history as it is not anyone elses. If another user logs into their account they will see their own Totem history and not yours. I think you need to research what "privacy" is. It doesn't apply here

What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a

And I can suggest fixes.

You can purge ALL recently viewed files from all application with this command:

rm ~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel

Make sure totem is not running! You can also remove single files from that file if you are comfortable editing XML.

Can you help with this problem?
