genuine version

hi

I presently using a ubuntu 9 which is not genuine version.how can i get a genuine one or how do i upgrade the existing one to a genuine version. please help me.

Ubuntu is free and does not have "genuine" and "not genuine" versions.

How does this manifest itself? Is it working or not?

Hello,

I assume that with "genuine" you mean a supported version of Ubuntu, because Ubuntu 9 series have already reached EOL (End Of Life) and not supported anymore.

Better for you would be to download and do a fresh install of a newer and supported version.

Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS has extended support until April 2017.
