why does it keep not playing my dvd saying that there is no plug ins when there are

I have been trying to play this dvd in this computer and it won't play. It say that there are no plug ins installed.
when actually there really are.

Hi ,

Please open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and apply the commands below (copy-paste from here , one at time)

$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

$ sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

See now if is Ok.

OR else tell us which version of Ubuntu you use.
