Which video applications have you tested?

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy timidity

Thanks

In totem (I imagine that's what you call movie player), are the correct devices and such set for output? Have you tried other players like gnome-mplayer or VLC?
