totem package

Can not play audio CD

When I place an audio CD in my CD/ROM drive Totem fires up, however, I get the following message: "Totem could not play 'cdda:/'. There is no input plugin to handle the location of this movie" How do I listen to CD's through my computer? Thank you in advance for your help.

It would appear that I have solved my own problem. I found the following thread in the MultiMedia forum in Unbuntu forums. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=535429&highlight=gxine Basically all I did was execute the command:
 hal-disable-polling --device /dev/scd0

I then executed the command:
hal-disable-polling --device /dev/scd0 --enable-polling

Now it works. Kinda weird, heh???
