Media player won't play my dvd, doesn't seem to be my computer and it says i have the right software already installed

Asked by Ayo Wallace

I am trying to play a DVD in Movie Player. Every time I enter it into the drive it makes noise as if to read but nothing comes up. I can play my iPod without problem and the DVD is in the correct region so wondering if it's just my laptop (Acer) or possibly the Ubuntu software? I've already gone to "terminal" and entered a command to install "libdvdread4" to no avail as when i tried to enter my password it didn't work. Any suggestions?
