How to play MS Media Encoder Stream

Asked by Joey Stanford

Hi,

I've got totem (gstreamer) installed with every restricted format I can find and still I cannot play a particular stream. I've tried xine with no luck either. I want to be able to listen to

http://www.co.boulder.co.us/sheriff/com/shradio.asx (from http://www.co.boulder.co.us/sheriff/com/live_radio.htm).

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me get this working.

Thanks,

Joey

I've also tried to play it directly: http://shradio.co.boulder.co.us:8080/

I alwas use vlc to play stream.

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update; apt-get install vlc

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Then choose to open your stream with /usr/bin/vlc from Firefox preferences.

I tested and it works, but you must wait for radio messages

Thank you
