Totem, more visual effects possible?

Asked by Dwarrel

Is there any kinda of patch/update/plug-in for totem to get more visual effects (the thing that reacts to the sounds in the screen wich can be put on fullscrean). I have totem on my Ubuntu 7.10 OS. If there is such a thing, would a kind person then be able to wright me a short tutorial or if its only the command the command?

Many thanks, Greets Dwarrel proud first week Ubuntu user.

Hi,

I don't think there are any extended plugins for Totem. However, you may want to look at "XMMS" and "GOOM!"

To install, open Synaptic (System->Applications->Synaptic), search for "xmms", check "xmms" and "xmms-goom", then press Apply.

There are a number of other fancy image plugins for XMMS - just take a read through the list in Synaptic and install the ones that look interesting :-)

You could also try the default media player for Ubuntu - Rhythmbox, which also works with GOOM.
