Totem Movie Player plays movie but is very dimmed

I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 on an Acer Desktop and everything works fine except the movie player plays flash movies which is very dimmed. Is there a workaround for this?

Inside Movie Player there is a <Preference>, I select <Display> and manage to adjust the <Brightness> from there.
