The file is not corrupted, my friend tried playing it in his brand new Samsung laptop running Windows 7 and works fine. Unfortunately, I didn't had the chance to take the specs of his laptop.

I'm very confident that Ubuntu are more processor efficient than Windows.

Do I need a large video memory or more processor power?

I already solve the problem.

I converted the mkv file to playstation file (mp4) through Arista converter. It took me a while to convert but it's worth it.

I sacrifice the video quality but at least I can watch it in my PC or PS3.
