could not determine type of stream .wmv

Hello there in cyberspace,

Some movies (wmv-files) can be seen in Movie Player, some (still in the wmv format) cannot be seen. Then the message - could not determine type of stream - appears.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 and have sufficient memory installed. What can be the cause of this malfunction?

Have you installed ubuntu-restricted-extras as well as w32codecs from the medibuntu repo. I also suggest you install vlc as it pulls in a few more plugins too
