Its showing that "Package System is Broken"

Binary package hint: totem

when i open a movie clip its gives the option to search for plugins in internet. when i search the internet ...it gives "package system is brken "error message

seems a local issue rather than a totem bug

You need to repair package management.
Close all GUIs and open a terminal: ctrl+alt+t

Try to update the system, in case of error messages post the output here.
(Highlight text in terminal and paste with middle mouse click)

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
