Totem Movie Player Deinterlacing

Asked by garywlf

I am running Totem movie player 2.18.1 using xine-lib version 1.1.4 on Ubuntu 7.04. The deinterlace is turned on under the view menu, but there is still a significant amount of "combing" in the picture. Are there any more advanced settings for for the deinterlacing that can be used to solve this problem?

if you dont have your heart set on Totem, VLC has lots of deinterlacing options... in fact, if you use OpenGL (in VLC or Totem) for the output you probably dont even need to deinterlace, but you will need a good OpenGL card...

Thanks, VLC definitely works better than Totem when it comes to picture quality. I seem to have killed the sound while messing around, but once I find it again then this player will be all that is needed.

VLC is great but I would recommend MPlayer because it seems to play and deinterlace a little more efficiently.
