Can you open a termnal and run:

file /path/to/image.whatever

obviously change the filename to what you actually want to open up.

doing a search on the internet reveals that dicom is a unique file/video format.

doing a search for "viewing dicom images" brings up

http://www.microdicom.com/

go download the software. it's FREE.

it opens dicom formats and let's you save to the more popular formats such as .jpg and .avi so you can view it under totem. but why bother?

you'll need to install wine and run the software under wine.

Can you help with this problem?
