totem package

I see all movies in strange colors

when I open a movie in someone video player I see the movie on blue color. What do I do?

I'm going to assume you are using an nVidia graphics card, and the proprietary nVidia driver - if so see:

Run "gstreamer-properties" from alt+f2 or terminal.

Select the Video tab at top, for the Default Output Plugin, use the dropdown to select "X Window System (No Xv)".

Restart totem, other video applications.

If you are using other video players (vlc/mplayer) just change the VideoOut or VO to NOT be XV - select GL or X11 (GL probably preferred).
