Windows applications don't work out of the box on Linux. So there is no point in moving them to your Ubuntu installation.

If you have other files, (music, personal documents...) then a few options exist.

- Create a FAT32 partition (I always try to keep these under 40GB due to the file system limitations) which allows me to have both read and write access in both operating systems.
- Install NTFS-3G on your Ubuntu installation. It will allow you to read and write (but not guaranteed to be safe) on your current NTFS partition.

Some applications exist to allow Windows to read Linux file systems, but I haven't found any which worked OK for me.
