Playing DivX videos like those at Stage6

How can I be able to view DivX videos like those at Stage6? I tried using the Firefox add-on MediaPlayerConnectivity to let me to view them in VLC and even install the mplayer plugin for Firefox (mplayer-mozilla) but it didn't work as well.

I need to be able to view DivX videos.

I'm not sure I understand the question. However, this page has some information on using non-free multimedia codecs:

Installing the totem-mozilla package should work fine for DivX videos, except for some problems with buffering (only a problem if your internet connection isn't fast enough). Make sure you can play divx videos in totem normally otherwise this won't work.
